How to Find the Service Station? 

Transfer A Vehicle Registration 

When you buy a registered vehicle, you must transfer the car title under your name within 14 days. If you wait any longer, a late transfer fee must be paid to you. 

Eligibility: 

You must: 

  1. Hold an NSW Driver License 
  2. Be transferring a vehicle registered in NSW. 

Sometimes it’s not possible to transfer registration online, so you’ll need to visit a nearest service station NSW if any of the following apply: 

  1. The vehicle’s previous owner has not submitted a NOD 
  2. You need to transfer the registration due to the death of the owner

  3. The previous owner to have submitted a NOD

  7. Payment for the transfer fee and any additional fees and taxes (if applicable).

  2. Select the ‘Transfer online’ button. 
  3. Log in, or create your My Service NSW Account. 
  4. Follow the prompts to transfer the registration. 
  5. If you’re not eligible to transfer the registration online: 
  6. Download and complete the Application for Transfer of Registration – PDF. 
  7. Visit a service station with: 
  8. The completed form 
  9. Your proof of identity 
  10. Your concession details (if applicable) 
  11. Your certificate of registration, completed and signed on the back by the seller, or other proof of registration entitlement 
  12. Your payment.
